Kunstroute 7 september tot en met 28 september 2019

In de periode 7 september tot en met 28 september zet Rhenen de spotlichten op kunst van kunstenaars uit Rhenen en omgeving. Publiek kan zich verheugen op schilderijen en tekeningen, beeldhouwwerk, fotografie, keramiek en mixed media.

In de weekenden van 7 en 8 september en 14 en 15 september kan publiek gratis een kijkje nemen in tal van Rhenense ateliers. Ook is men welkom bij de tentoonstelling in het Stadsmuseum Rhenen, dat sinds vorig jaar gevestigd is in het Oude Raadhuis. Daar presenteren van 7 tot en met 28 september zo’n 40 kunstenaars hun werk in de middeleeuwse kelder en in het Museumcafé. De opening van de Kunstroute en de overzichtstentoonstelling – door wethouder Simone Veldboer – vindt plaats op vrijdag 6 september om 19.30 uur.

Bij de presentatie is een speciale Kunstroute-brochure gemaakt. Daarin staat alle informatie over de kunstenaars, de locaties en openingstijden. De toegang tot de ateliers is gratis. Het museum geeft in de Kunstroute-weekenden meer dan 50 % korting op de toegangsprijs, met de Museumkaart heeft men zelfs gratis entree. Kijk hiervoor ook op www.stadsmuseumrhenen.nl.

De brochure kan men vanaf nu gratis ophalen bij de VVV Rhenen, Markt 20 (ingang Kerkstraat) of download hem hier.

In de tuin van het Stadsmuseum Rhenen ziet men vanaf 7 september een Eregalerij voor kunstenaars met een speciale verdienste voor Rhenen. Die eer komt Margot Kikkert toe, kunstenaar van het jaar 2018 – zij won de kunstenaarswedstrijd in de Cunerakerk tijdens Open Monumentendag in september 2018. Ook kunstenaar Henk van de Vis krijgt de volle aandacht. In de museumtuin staan vanaf nu twee kunstwerken van hem.

De Kunstroute is een samenwerking van het Cultuurplatform Rhenen en het Stadsmuseum Rhenen, en is bedoeld om de belangstelling voor hedendaagse kunst van kunstenaars uit de eigen omgeving te stimuleren.

Think Pink Studio participeert ook aan de Kunstroute Rhenen. Op 7, 8, 14 en 15 september heeft Mascha Bossuyt van Think Pink Studio een Open Tuin Expositie bij haar atelier. Je bent van harte welkom!

“Visit to Kinderdijk”, wooden painting with three of the Mills of the Kinderdijk in the Netherlands.

Pyrography art of three windmills that are at the water. The sky in this painting is mezmerizing! The veins of the wood make the surrounding in this painting (sky, water).

It’s made of teak wood. The wood has a great color and pattern. It’s a unique piece.

“Visit to Kinderdijk”, houten schilderij met de molens van de Kinderdijk in Nederland.

Pyrografiekunst (houtbranden) van drie molens die aan het water staan. De lucht in dit schilderij is prachtig! Het hout is zo bewerkt dat de nerven van het hout de omgeving maken (lucht en water).

Het is gemaakt van teak hout. Het hout heeft een prachtige kleur en tekening. Het stuk is uniek.

“Walk at the Beach”, houten schilderij, pyrografiekunst.

Beeld je eens in dat je langs het strand loopt met de persoon waarvan je het meeste houdt. Jullie wandelen allebei door het water. Het water spat in de rondte. De zon gaat onder en de zee ziet er kalm uit.

The dutch website CultuurinRhenen.nl (an organization for culture in the Netherlands) published an article on 1 July 2019 about Think Pink Studio. Because it’s in Dutch, we’ve translated it for you in English.

Rhenen has a new artist. Mascha Bossuyt (Utrecht, 1975) established her Think Pink Studio in Rhenen in 2018. Mascha still works from her shed, but soon her studio is ready, she says enthusiastically. “Just in time for the art route in September in Rhenen”.

Mascha Bossuyt regularly collects solid wooden cast-offs and gives the beautiful wood of old furniture a new life. “There is often beautiful wood beneath the paint and dust, and when I pick it up, I often also get nice stories. With pyrography (woodburning) I create strong accents in this beautiful wood.”

The art of pyrography and woodworking

“For me, making a painting starts with the wood. Sanding, planing and sawing, I first make the old wood pure again. Then I combine strips of wood into a beautiful “canvas” or a sculpture.

The grain of the wood makes the painting. Beach, sea, sky and so on. I myself add pyrography elements to it: shadows, accents, and the parts the painting is about, for example a tree, a sailboat or children playing in the water. Very nice to create visual stories! ”

What perspective do you choose to look at the world?

“Think Pink” stands for enjoying making things beautiful. Just because it’s possible. And for embracing the freedom of life. In all its aspects. “I wish everyone this. For me, art is just something beautiful that touches people. Every time one of my pieces touches someone, I like to think that the world has become a little more beautiful,” says Mascha Bossuyt.

“Diving On the Reef”, houten schilderij, pyrografiekunst van Think Pink Studio.

Het is een zonnige, speelse dag op het strand!

Dit schilderij heeft een perspectief op het strand vanaf het water. Op de voorgrond zie je iemand snorkelen in het water. Je kunt de snorkel boven het water zien uitsteken.

Een aantal mensen spelen in het water. Op het strand zie je twee strandhuisjes.

De nerven van het hout maken de omgeving van het schilderij (strand, zee, rif onder water). Met pyrografie (houtbranden) is het verhaal erin verwerkt.
